Founded in 1976 in Periamet, Chennai, G.S. Babu & Co. began as a leather trading enterprise established by the late Mr. P.R. Haribabu, built on trust, integrity, and uncompromised quality.

In 2003, the company entered a new era under Mr. H. Prem Anand, who joined as the company’s first employee and now serves as Managing Director. Through hard work, perseverance, and hands-on leadership, Prem transformed the business into a modern manufacturing organization with a state-of-the-art finishing tannery at SIPCOT, Ranipet.

Driven by a strong belief in unity among employees, Prem has fostered a collaborative, people-first culture that powers the company’s success. Beyond business, he is an active member of Rotary International, having served as Club President and in multiple District Chairman roles.

Today, through the HAREE brand and specialized manufacturing of Cow Casual Calf and Milled Leathers, G.S. Babu & Co. serves clients across Asia, Europe, and the United States, blending heritage values with modern innovation.
